Hi, my name is Carl, and I’m a sweet, loving, cuddly boy looking for my forever home!
My journey hasn’t been the easiest. I was found as a stray in the South, and when my stray hold was up, I ended up on the euthanasia list simply because I was blind. Thankfully, some wonderful people saw that I deserved a chance at a happy life, and here I am!
I am both blind and deaf, but please don’t let that scare you away. I have so much love to give! I absolutely adore affection, cuddling, and being close to my people. I am super smart and respond to tapping signals and learn the layout of my environment in just a couple of days. I enjoy toys and bones and play wrestling just like any other dog.
I currently live with five foster siblings. I was frightened and a little defensive at first. Luckily, my foster siblings were patient and understanding. Within just a few days, I realized nobody was trying to hurt me, and now we’re the best of friends!
If you have other dogs, please understand that I may need a few days to feel safe and comfortable. Once I realize I’m in a loving environment, my sweet personality really shines.
My ideal forever home would be a relaxed household where my people are home a lot. While I currently live with several playful dogs, I think I’d really appreciate a quieter home with one or two laid back, playful dogs. I can absolutely live with other dogs, but calmer companions would probably be my preference.
Because I can’t see or hear what’s happening around me, I’d also do best in a home with older, respectful children or no children at all.
I may experience the world a little differently, but I love just as deeply as any other dog. All I’m looking for is someone patient, kind, and willing to give me the security and love I deserve.
